Liverpool FC Are you MIGHTY RED SUPPORTERS??!!

A Full Blooded Affair
Merseyside clash always produced a hot blooded match. Everton came to Anfield in order to break their duck, winless against their red half since 1999. 2 sending offs and flurry of yellow cards is actually a standard for this kind of clash. Over the years, it has produced a number of reds and yellows. Simply colourful.
Kuyt came on top last night when he headed a Gerrard corner from close range. He did not even need to jump that high considering he was kept at bay by Gary Neville and Tim Howard. Howard should have done better to punch the ball away but Kuyt had other ideas. So 1-0 was the final score.
The big question is, can Liverpool sustain this winning streak until the end of the season. Big games are coming soon. Meetings with Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man U are up in the cards. Still without Fernando Torres and Benayoun and still scraping wins sums up the work rate at the reds camp. Maybe the gaffer read our article here and they have been seriously under fire by the fans. Not that we are loosing faith in them, we wanted them to be more clinical, astute, precise hard and ruthless. Liverpool is up in 4th place pipping Spurs last night. But it still remains a slim margin.
Benitez himself has been under fire. He was put under the sword by pundits, medias and fans. Many have called his name to be sacked. Honestly, it was not his fault to begin with at the 1st place. I remembered putting down the players are mainly to blame. The so called 'fringe' players should come up on top everytime they step foot on the field.
Lets just hope that we can keep on fighting until the end and cement the top four finish quickly no matter how scruffy our game is. The most important thing right now is getting the 3 points and nothing else.YNWA!
Liverpool 1 - 0 EvertonDirk Kuyt's 50th goal in a red shirt secured the derby bragging rights as 10-man Liverpool produced a magnificent display to beat Everton 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Dutch star nodded home his fourth goal in four matches on 54 minutes to earn three vital points for Rafael Benitez's men after Sotirios Kyrgiakos had been shown a straight red card for a first-half challenge on Marouane Fellaini. The Toffees had rarely looked like snatching a draw and their misery was compounded in injury-time when Steven Pienaar received a second yellow card. The win clinched the Reds' fourth Barclays Premier League double over their neighbours and means they are now up to fourth in the table- albeit having played more games than their rivals. With Aston Villa and Tottenham going head-to-head in the evening kick-off, Benitez and co went into the 213th Merseyside derby knowing that victory would not only cement their place as the number one club in Liverpool for another season, but also enhance their bid for the fourth Champions League spot. Liverpool could have killed the game way earlier if it wasnt for costly mistakes from Ngog who had glorious chances on both halves. The supporters where i saw the match last night were calling for Ngog to be replaced as soon as possible seeing that we lacked the touches, control and finishing touches. The Bolton defenders are no roll overs. They are tough tackling guys who will give anything to stop attacking players coming their way. Liverpool were lucky when Kyrgiakos stopped Lee's effort on the line. Insua could have gotten man of the match award last night but i think it was Kyrgiakos's display at the centre of defense should be given the plaudits. |

Tom Hicks watched from the stand looking uninterested. The gaffer dealing with rumors that he might quit the hot seat to join the Italian giants Juventus. But one thing that we could see last night was the players were working their socks off to sink Bolton at Anfield. Strikes from Kuyt and Insua (thanks to Kevin Davies's legs) were enough for Liverpool to reach to within one point behind Spurs who drew with Birmingham last night.
